Within the grain sector, we have delivered some of our largest silo plants with regard to volume and capacity. As part of an ethanol plant, we delivered eight silos with a total area of 12,000 m3 for the storage of grain and pellets. Also included in the project was a reception facility, containers and conveyor equipment.

One of our largest silo plants, volume-wise, also handles grain; four all-welded silos with a height of 34 m and a diameter of 16.8 m. The total net volume was approx. 29,000 m3. Included in the project was belt conveyors for the filling of silos, with two lines, each with two conveyors, of which one was reversible on each line. And a capacity of 240 tons of grain per hour and line.

Feed manufacturing is also an important part of the agriculture industry, often involving upgrading and conversion of existing plants. During 2007, we were engaged as the construction contractor of a new feed factory for Vallberga Lantmän in Hov.

Sweden’s future energy supply will come from solid fuel-heated facilities to a much greater extent and within Scandinavia the pellet market is growing fast. In Sweden alone, production has doubled in just a few years. Combustion with solid fuel is a cost-effective and environmentally-friendly solution compared to other fuels, and Bulkteknik Sweden is an active participant in the development of solid fuel-heated facilities.

Over the past few years, we have supplied a number of larger facilities in Scandinavia. Among our projects is a silo plant for Derome Bioenergi with a volume of 13,255 m3. For a silo plant measuring 26,500 m3 in Ulricehamn, there were extremely high demands and safety requirements with regard to fire protection. The plant was fully enclosed and also included the delivery and installation of filters and aspiration equipment.

Over the years we have supplied turn-key solutions and plants to leading cement producers both nationally and internationally. We have developed terminal facilities where handling begins with the arrival of cement by boat for onward transportation to cement centres with storage silos. The cement terminals are operated and managed by the drivers of the bulk vehicles, which can arrive at any time of the day or night and fill their desired amount of cement via automated loading. Reporting of the load is then automatically sent to the cement producer’s computer system. Other projects within the area of cement include a number of transportation and feeding solutions for cement, using belt and screw conveyors as well as silo storage.

Every year, more than 25 million tons of dry bulk material are handled in Swedish ports. Bulkteknik Sweden has a long tradition of handling bulk material in the port area and in marine terminals. Loading and off-loading must be done in a limited period of time. Fast, even and reliable processes are of utmost importance. In order to achieve an even distribution of the material, telescopic projection is often used, as well as the capacity to shift the conveyor sideways, without the boat having to change position. Other common properties can relate to vertically adjustable and dust or spill-free conveyors. The transportations solutions in the facilities are usually various kinds of belt, screw or pneumatic transportation solutions.
